"Message in a Bottle" Valentines Day Printable Set

Introducing a new printable set from Sweet Scarlet Designs – "Message in a Bottle" Valentines Printable Set.

Wouldn't we all love to receive a romantic message in a bottle from some mysterious source? Whether the sender is anonymous or someone we know, how romantic to receive a beautiful love letter – floating atop the waves!

I'm pretty much in love with this set – can you tell!

To style the dessert table for this set I used lots of nautical items mixed in with the Valentines theme – anchors (which I am in LOVE with right now!), hooks, bottles, twine, sand, starfish and sea shells. I love all these elements mixed with the white, pale pink, red and gray colors of the printable set.

I kept the food for this table very simple and easy for any host to re-create including vanilla cupcakes, creaming soda jell-O pots, meringue cakes, strawberry milk, lollipops, Hershey's Kisses and assorted candy.

The location I chose to photograph the table is very much in keeping with the nautical theme at the William Gunn Jetty, Manly, Brisbane. I was so lucky that this beautiful replica Schooner sailing boat was in dock and made THE perfect background for the table.

The set includes, 2", 1.5" and 3/4" party dots, bunting flags, large bottle labels, mini bottle wrap labels and water bottle labels. Also included are straw flags, 6"x4" party signs, editable food tents and patterned papers to write your love letters on!

There are also heaps of Valentines favor ideas with Large and Small SwingTags and Favor Cards.

For this centrepiece I filled a white metal drinks tub with sand, and added
my decorated bottles (with patterned paper messages inside), a large anchor, seashells and sea stars.
Straw flags added to long skewers added to the nautical look and feel.

Black Cats, Bats and delicious details really caught my imagination with this set. And, this table was fun to style because I got to use some of my vintage silverware for a spooky, gothic-feel.

Mad Hatter Tea Party Dessert Table by Sweet Scarlet Designs

This was the Mad Hatter Tea Party I designed for my daughter's 7th birthday. After being rained-out and then postponed, the party finally went ahead. Although I had plans for it being a beautiful garden party, it had to be held under cover as the ground was too wet and mushy. But, we got there in the end and a lovely time was had by all.

The design I had in mind was a very modern interpretation of the Alice in Wonderland and Mad Hatter theme. I contrasted a modern Chevron pattern with vintage silverware pieces like the candelabra, and silver teapots and decanters. The beautiful gold teaset really made the whole table 'pop' and I was so lucky I found bits and pieces of this set at flea markets and on eBay to put together.

The party itself was a lot of fun with 'old school' activities and games like sack races, pass-the-parcel, horse rides, a photo booth (with printable Alice in Wonderland props) and croquet! Yes, I even found a croquet set on eBay! All the guests received co-ordinating ribbon wands, which I made, trimmed with name tags, which come as an editable PDF file in this printable set.

Food included vanilla cupcakes, layered jellies, teapot and teacup cookies, assorted candies, lollipops, cake pops and ice cream – which I made myself (apart from the ice cream!).

I hope you enjoy this party as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
